Are you spending Cinco de Mayo in hotels in Silicon Valley? Lucky for you, Mountain View’s A La Carte and Art is the same weekend, kicking off the outdoor festival season May 5-6. The ever popular Castro Street will host vendors, live music, fine arts and crafts, along with food, a farmer’s market and Tons of Fun Zone for the kids. Admission is free, so come out and enjoy the fun!
200 of the West Coast’s top artists will show their handcrafted products, including jewelry, glass, ceramics, wood, paperweights, wallets and much more at this festival. There will also be artisan specialty food purveyors, health and wellness displays, an organic and green products showcase, home and garden exhibits and food and drink. Premium wine, microbrews, margaritas, mojitos, sangria and mimosas will be among the drinks available.
Two days of live music will turn downtown Mountain View into a hotspot for the weekend. The lineup includes Trio Estrellas De Oro, Livewire, Zebop, Blue House, The Hitmen, The Groove Kings, Bob Culbertson, Oscar Reynolds, Ancient Winds, and Emerson & The Growiser Band.
For the kids, there is an action-packed Kids’ Tons of Fun Zone. The area has a 24’ climbing wall, inflatable slide and bounces, remote controlled NASCAR race tracks, face painting, henna tattoos, hand painted t-shirts, fossil digs, magic shows, dinosaur art and much more. Plus, there will be music, dance, games and prizes with the Radio Disney Road Crew to keep all youngsters entertained.
Back by popular demand this year is A Lar Car & Art, a custom car show sponsored by Hot San Jose Nights. Custom hot rods, muscle cars, sports cars and low riders will be among the many cars on display during this classic and custom art show. Families are encouraged to take VTA Light Rail or Caltrain to A LA Carte and Art! Hope to see you there!
