Halloween is a great time for foodies in the Silicon Valley! If you’re staying in Mountain View CA lodging this October you can attend the Chocolate Fest in Belmont or Oktoberfest all around the Bay Area. Read below for more details on these fun events to celebrate the coming of fall!
Chocolate Fest, October 5-6
Over a thousand guests are expected at the 30th annual Chocolate Fest at the Congregational Church of Belmont. Twenty different sellers of chocolate will bring their treats in the form of ice cream, gelato, brownies, cakes, cookies, truffles and candy. Samples of all these and pure chocolate will be available for all guests. Unlimited tastings are available, as well as champagne, coffee, a chocolate boutique and fun prizes. The Michael Medwid Jazz Trio will play during all three sessions of Chocolate Fest. Proceeds from the Fest will go toward outreach projects such as Samaritan House, Second Harvest Food Bank and the Interfaith Hospitality Network and efforts to maintain the historic church. Sessions are Friday evening 7:30pm to 10pm and Saturday afternoon 1:30pm-4pm and Saturday evening 7:30pm to 10pm. Tickets for the afternoon session are $17.50 in advance and $20 at the door. Seniors and children admission will be $15. Tickets for evening sessions are $22.50 in advance and $25 at the door, with no senior or children discounts. Peninsula & Campbell Oktoberfest, October 13-14
The Peninsula Oktoberfest is a one day event of food, beer and music. On Saturday, October 13, join Redwood City in a free celebration of local and nationally known breweries. There will also be arts and crafts vendors. You can also attend the Campbell Oktoberfest, held on both October 13 & 14. Live German music will be playing all weekend on two stages.
