The holiday season is a fantastic time to enjoy fun events with family and friends. This 2015 holiday season, the San Jose area is providing a number of engaging events for members of the community to partake in. Here are a number holiday events in the Silicon Valley that are going on this season.
Christmas in the Park takes place at the Plaza de Cesar Chavez, which is in the heart of Downtown San Jose. At Christmas in the Park, the area is completely transformed into a winter wonderland complete with fun decorations, a beautifully lit christmas tree, and even The Lima Train – a fun train ride for your children to enjoy. The event is FREE and open to the public and is open everyday from now until January 3rd from 9am – midnight.
The Nutcracker will be playing at the Santa Clara Convention Center Theater for two days only. This ballet, is considered a holiday tradition by many. On Saturday, December 12th there are performances at 2pm and 7pm. On Sunday, December 13th there will be performances at 1pm and 5pm. Tickets for children are $26, tickets for seniors are $30, and tickets for adults are $32. Tickets can be purchased at the official theater website at santaclaraballet.com
If you love looking at Christmas decorations, then a trip to the Glacier Lights home is just for you. For nearly ten years, two neighbors have decorated their homes with thousands of lights that cover both of their lawns. The result is a grand light show that has continued to be displayed every christmas season. The light display is located at 1405 Glacier Drive, San Jose, CA 95118. Sundays-Thursdays the show is from 6pm-9pm; Fridays and Saturdays the show will be from 6pm-10pm and on Christmas Eve and Christmas night, the show will be from 6pm-10pm.
