After your stomach is full from all the wonderful food of Thanksgiving, you be wondering where to shop for all your holiday gifts. Christmas is just around the corner, after all. If you’ll be in Mountain View or the San Francisco Bay Area, check out the San Jose Harvest Festival Original Art and Craft Show on Black Friday weekend for some great gifts!
The Festival offers over 24,000 handm ade gifts including jewelry, photographs, original art, accessories, clothing, toys, textiles, specialty foods, home décor and much more! You’ll definitely be able to find something for every friend or family member here. Tom Rigney & Flambeau, the Scott Land Marionettes, Mama Claus, the Funny Horsemen and Yule Jazz will perform holiday tunes every day of the festival. Sweet Adelines (the Bay Area Showcase Chorus) will play Saturday, November 25 at 1:45pm.
The interactive KidZone will be an opportunity for the whole family to participate in hands-on-crafts such as gingerbread cookie decorating from Gingerbread-on-the-go and jewelry making with Dragonfly Designs. The San Jose Glass Artist Alliance will also host a stained glass design workshop where guests can create their own ornament with a small material costs fee.
Celebrity broadcaster and film critic Jan Wahl will appear Saturday, November 25 at the festival in Room G at 11:30am. Jan will celebrate the women of the silver screen in “Fabulous Females of Film.” At 12:30pm, Jan will travel through popular holiday films in “Holiday Highlights in Film.”
Tickets to the Festival will be $9 for adults, $4 for youth 13-17 and $7 for seniors 62 years or older. AT&T Pioneers will be collecting new toys and books or non-perishable food donations at the festival for their holiday drive. Those who bring a donation will receive $2 off admission coupon. The Human Society Silicon Valley is the official show charity, and will receive half of the proceeds from shopping bag sales, all proceeds from bag and parcel check and donations. They will be present at the festival to raise awareness of quality pet adoptions, affordable spaying and neutering and education programs.
